I Love Technology…

I wrote this really long, super interesting and funny post the other day and then the internet went wonky. So, you’ll just have to settle for this sub par post.

I’ve been sort of MIA on the internet (I have so many blog posts to read, it’ll take me 2 weeks to catch up) because I’m moving. Or, we moved. Or, well, okay… so we started moving yesterday but today we’re also still moving stuff in. Our heat doesn’t work (boo, because snowpocalypse 2011 is supposed to happen tonight) and that sort of sucks. Tony bought me a warm, fuzzy blanket and a space heater for my room. Once my room is all unpacked I’ll share pictures. My clothes will probably get unpacked today, so I can set up this “Dress the Kadye” segment.

Classes start on Thursday. Have I already mentioned this? I’m taking 19 hours. If I could make numbers in “caps lock” to emphasize the amount of time I’ll be sitting in class – I would. I. AM. FREAKING. OUT. I’m out of “fluff” classes. Meaning, I only have 1 Gen Ed left before all I have are my core classes left. I’m taking my first 2 upper division business classes (statistics and marketing) this semester. There aren’t enough “omgs” in the world to express how NOT excited I am about this. One more year, one more year, one more year.

Next time I have internet (no interwebs at home for another week… also no cable) I’ll post my first batch of my 365 project.

I’m way behind on these, but here are some goalish type things I have set for 2011:

  • Work on my confidence
  • Be more positive
  • Shoot for As and Bs
  • Learn to budget better
  • Work on my 101 in 1001 list!

Did you set any goals or resolutions for 2011?

Let it Snow

When I woke up this morning it was SNOWING! I don’t know if any of you have ever been to Memphis but the weather is insane. We hardly ever get snow until late January, early February. And even then it’s mushy, slushy, icy snow. Not pretty snow. This morning was pretty snow! It wasn’t sticking, but it was pretty to look at. :)

My car is alive. It seems it was only PMSing. We took the battery out and had it tested – it was fine. So, we bought some fuses and replaced a couple after Googling my car’s symptoms. Works fine and dandy, now. Total cost to have it fixed – the cost of a small box of fuses. Thank goodness!

Last Wednesday was the last day of class for the Fall 2010 semester. I turned in my Oral Communication final on Thursday and took my Microeconomics final on Friday. I have my last final on Thursday (at 8:00 am!) and then I’m done! So Friday marked the first day of “Grade Watch F2010″. Every semester I obsessively refresh the different pages my grades will turn up on so I can see what I made. I do the math based on the grading scale on each of the syllabi that each professor gives out. This is the only time I can do math.

I’m doing poor on my Christmas shopping this year. So far I’ve only gotten my brother something. So the rest of the list is: Mom, Dad, Tony, my Secret Santa thing, probably a dirty santa gift for work, and a couple of work/friends/close relatives.

The Secret Santa I’m doing is with other readers from the Disney Wedding blogs. I already know what I’m getting her, I just need to order it. I’ll post it after she’s received the gift just in case she finds me some how. I don’t want to ruin it! It’s pretty awesome though. It’s something Tony and I have each wanted for a while. Hint – it has to do with photography and food/drinks.

Are you participating in a Secret Santa? When do you usually get snow? How was your weekend?

Happy Holidays… dingdingding

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I’m still living vicariously through you guys still doing the 30×30. It’s pretty awesome the outfits you all put together. Maybe I’ll just take a photo of each item I own and let you guys put together outfits for me. I’ll be your personal Barbie doll but a brunette, average body type, and if you stare into my eyes you won’t have the sudden urge to rip my head off (at least… I don’t think you would…)

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s the holiday season (unless you’re my aunt who is kiiiiind of on the crazy side sometimes) and it’s time for gifts! Except… I have no idea what to get anyone. My brother told me what he wants but didn’t know what they were called (these rubber things you put over shoes to make them rain boots?) and my dad’s pretty easy – history books. Tony’s slowly putting together his Amazon wishlist for me (I’ve kept one for 2 years or so, mostly for myself because I used to bookmark stores then forget about their existence). The only person I really don’t know what to get is my mother. I’m thinking going in with my brother and getting her a Kindle?

Finals are in a week. Only one regular exam on Friday before that. I’m in the home stretch for the semester. After that it’s just work, work, and more work! That is, until spring semester begins.

I need some help 30X30ers. I have this white sweater dress that’s OH so comfy but I don’t know how to wear it! I tried with tights under it (but I only have the 1 or 2 pairs and both are black) and you can totally see it through the dress. How should I do this? Slip, buy leggings, buy neutral tights? I need ideas y’all!

How was your Thanksgiving? What did you eat, did you do any Black Friday shopping?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a wonderful day full of family, friends, and food.

I’m SO thankful for:

  • My amazing fiancé
  • My wonderful family
  • My awesome friends
  • My adorable puppies

What are you thankful for?
